Performance rarely tells the whole story.
Gwenhwyfar founded Performance Psychotherapy® to bring psychological depth and forward movement into the same room. Developed through work with elite athletes, founders, military personnel and professionals whose decisions carry significant financial consequences, it goes beyond conventional coaching to understand what is driving performance beneath the surface.
Today, she works internationally with companies, professional sports teams, leaders and high performers across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Her work is not built around generic profiles or prescribed corporate solutions. She considers the person, the system around them and the often-unspoken forces affecting both. Because what presents as a performance problem is rarely where the problem began.
That understanding was formed from inside complex organisations. Gwenhwyfar’s early career included government, naval and military research, followed by senior roles across organisational psychology and people strategy. She later became a Chief Human Resources Officer, with responsibility for the decisions, systems and cultures affecting entire organisations.
Alongside her executive roles, she became a trusted coach to senior leaders. She led complex projects valued at more than $40 million, identified cultural and operational problems that had gone unrecognised, and delivered changes that saved organisations tens of millions.
Yet she became increasingly aware of the limits of conventional organisational work. Assessments could describe people without truly understanding them. Coaching could create momentum without reaching the source of a pattern. Even well-designed programmes could become another framework sitting unused on a shelf.
So she chose to go deeper, undertaking the doctoral path in psychology and psychotherapy. Performance Psychotherapy® grew from the integration of that clinical depth with her experience of coaching, leadership and organisational life.
